Opening of “Impressions of Heritage” Printmaking Workshop Exhibition.

Nature, life, and the history of Sitian arts, as seen through the eyes of the local printmakers of today: Seven participants in the Printmaking Workshop which was held at the Folk – Historical Museum of Sitia from November to June, and the workshop coordinator, Antonia Dretaki, present their work at Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS (97, V. Kornarou St., Sitia), on Saturday, 21 of June, at 20:00.

Having gained an in-depth understanding of the art of printmaking, and having developed their own views on cultural heritage, from a contemporary aspect, the participants were inspired by nature, everyday life, and the artistic history of Sitia. The theme of the exhibition was developed during museum visits, outdoor classes, and talks about the artistic identity of the region. With respect for the past and focusing on the present, the works presented constitute a visual narrative about what it means to create from one’s own home land.
