Stegi Vitsentzos Kornaros is planning to create an exhibition area dedicated to Erotokritos and its poet, Vitsentzos Kornaros, on the ground floor of the Stegi premises. This permanent exhibition will be open to the public and the school community, featuring specially-designed museum educational programmes. A rich variety of informational material on Vitsentzos Kornaros and his work, as well as Sitia of the Venetian era, and the Cretan Renaissance will be available. Furthermore, audiovisual means will be at hand, so that one can listen to narrations and related music, and see theatrical and artistic representations of Erotokritos, as well as old publications of the poem, artefacts dating back to the time of Kornaros, toys and works of art. Discovering all that, one will be able to experience Erotokritos with all senses; to get to know the language, the philosophy and the ongoing value of the work of Kornaros; to acquaint oneself with the Cretan Renaissance and its achievements in the birthplace of this significant poet.
