The Award Ceremony for Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS 3rd Pancretan Pupil Literature Contest will take place on Saturday 13 July 2024 at 8pm, at the premises of Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS (97, V. Kornarou St., Sitia). The winners of the competition, per genre, are as follows:
Poetry
1st Prize: Nicholas Makris-Tsalikis (General High School of Akrotiri, Chania).
2nd Prize: Sophia-Michailia Yiaitsi (1st Pilot High School of Chania).
3rd Prize: Maria-Nefeli Korniliou (11th High School of Heraklion)
Short Story
1st Prize: Eliana Tzorbatzaki (7th High School of Heraklion).
2nd Prize: Marina Yiannaraki (Evening High School of Heraklion).
3rd Prize: Evangelia Michelaki (1st High School of Sitia).
Prizes:
1st: E200 and literature books.
2nd: E150 and literature books.
3rd: E100 and literature books.
Additionally, Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS will offer the library of each of the winners’ school a collection of books.
The pupils who classified 4th-6th, have also won a praise for their work.
Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS will cover the accommodation expenses for the first three winners per genre and their families who will come to Sitia for the Award Ceremony.
The Contest aims at enhancing the self-expression skills of teenagers and supporting the teaching of literature and the quality of the written expression in Secondary education.
Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS, which is based in Sitia, Crete, targets the study and the highlighting of the work of the famous Renaissance poet of Erotokritos, Vitsentzos Kornaros, who was born and raised in Sitia.
