Results of the 1st Written Student Contest on the subject of Erotokritos

The 1^st Written Student Contest on the subject of Erotokritos took place on Friday, 9 June 2023 at the Hellenic Mediterranean University of Sitia, with the participation of the first-year students of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department. The winners Ariana Yiemenitzi, Magda Pirpiri and Eleni Christofi, received the same number of votes.

The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday June 28 2023, at 20:00, at the Sitia Polykentro (16, Kondylaki St.), and the winners will also be given a 200 euros money prize.

By organizing this contest, Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS wishes to make the poem by Vitsentzos Kornaros, Erotokritos, known to the local University students, who happen to study at the birthplace of the poet. At the beginning of their studies, they were presented with a copy of Erotokritos, courtesy of Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS, and they also attended a presentation of the poem, by the philologist Mrs. Sophia Fousteri, which was organized for them at the Stegi premises in Sitia.

In charge of the contest were the teachers Maria Christianna Passou and Angeliki Christaki.
