Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS invites you to the opening of the Petros Petrosian photo exhibition, on Saturday 17 June, at 21:00, on the ground floor of Stegi (97, V. Kornarou St., Sitia). The exhibition is organized upon the occasion of the launch of “1960-2020 Photographs” photo album, which is published by Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS. The exhibition will be open for a visit until the 25th of June (everyday, 19:00-21:30).
The photographer, Petros Petrosian, introduces himself:
“I was born in Sitia, Crete, on the 18th of January, 1936, and I am of Armenian descent. My father was from Pergamon and my mother from Eskisehir. They fled Asia Minor in 1922 and a year later they found themselves in Sitia. I spent my last High School years in Athens, where I first became acquainted with the art of photography, which captivated me. In 1955, having managed to sum up a substantial amount of money, I bought myself a decent camera… Photography gives me a sense of freedom and the opportunity to express my thoughts. Through photography, I create my own world”.
