Presentation of the book by Eirini Dermitzaki, Human Warehouse, Evmaros Editions, at the Folk – Historical Museum of Sitia.

You are invited to attend the presentation of Eirini Dermitzaki’s book Human Warehouse, on Wednesday 27 September 2023, at 19:30. The event has been organized by Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS and it will be hosted by the Folk – Historical Museum of Sitia (26, Kapetan Sifi Str.).

The philologist Maria Vassilaki will talk about the book and excerpts will be read by the actress Aristea Kakouraki. The event will be coordinated by Katerina Goulielmou, a teacher and a member of Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS’ Managing Committee.

Human Warehouse is about a Greek actress who migrates to London and begins to work at an old peoples’ home. By doing so, she attempts to forget everything that made her flee Greece, while the home residents, on the other hand, strive to hold on to a fragmented memory of their past lives.

Eirini Dermitzaki was born in Sitia. She studied Theatre in Greece and Cinema in England, where she concluded her postgraduate studies in creative writing. Her works have been staged in London. She has written short stories, short film scripts and plays that have been published and have stood out and been praised in competitions. She teaches creative writing and works as a scriptwriter.
