Within the framework of the co-operation between Stegi Vitsentzos Kornaros and the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, a group of visiting ERASMUS students were shown around the SVK premises on Tuesday 25 October 2022.
The 13 visiting students from the University College of Leuveb Limburg, as well as the UCLL lecturers Yvon Ijsseldijk and Kristel Van Hoof, were given a brief tour around the SVK building by the HMU Terminology Tutor and member of SVK, Angeliki Christaki. During their visit, they were informed about the work and the activities of “Stegi”, as well as about the poet Vitsentzos Kornaros and his work Erotokritos. Afterwards, Gina Stepanian, a teacher and member of SVK, guided them through the Yorgos Kordis painting exhibition which is housed in SVK, featuring works inspired by Erotokritos.
The students of the University College of Leuveb Limburg participated in the International Workshop on Food Technology which was organized by UCLL and HMU, focusing on olive oil, during 24-27 October 2022. The guests were accompanied by the heads of the workshop and teachers of the Nutrition & Dietetics Department Georgios Fragiadakis and Vassilis Raikos, as well as Ioannis Sfendourakis (Special Technical Laboratory Staff) and local students.
The visitors showed a great interest on Erotokritos, and the two UCLL teachers requested the presentation video to be sent to them, so that it reaches more of their students. At the end of the meeting, commemorative gifts were offered to the guests, and a promise was made for a follow-up visit to Sitia.
The collaboration between Stegi Vitsentzos Kornaros and the Hellenic Mediterranean University will continue with other events, which will soon be announced.
