Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS invites you to the concert of the group “Pringhipessa”, coming from Thessaloniki, who will perform live at the Venetian fortress of Kazarma, in Sitia.
The members of the group are:
Christos Mastellos, voice
Maria Fragouli, voice
Triantafyllos Halkias, bouzouki
Nikos Taleas, accordion, piano, voice
Dimitris Sfiggos, guitar, voice
Miltos Tsaligopoulos, double bass
Guest appearances by the top Greek violin soloist Kyriakos Gouventas and the clarinet virtuoso Paris Mammas.
The first part of the concert is a Greek music retrospective from 1920 to 1990, featuring the serenades and the amanedes of the 1920s as well as the songs of Vamvakaris, Tsitsanis, Hadjidakis, Theodorakis, Savvopoulos and others.
The second part is a tribute to the composer Yiannis Markopoulos who has recently deceased. Having grown up in Ierapetra, Yiannis Markopoulos was also of Sitian decent, on his mother’s side.
