Vasilis Solidakis was born in Sitia. He began studying painting independently in 1968 and continued his studies in 1973 under Dimitris Perdikidis in Madrid. He held his first solo exhibition in 1978 in Athens. This was followed by a series of solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

His work falls within the framework of figurative expressionism. He is an artist with a highly developed sensibility and philosophical inclinations, who approaches painting not only as a field of research but also as a medium for recording and developing his ideas.

His work traces the artist’s journey from Matter to Idea, inspiring us to embark on unknown journeys into the boundless worlds of Existence and presenting us with his own theory, his own individual system of interpretation or construction of a cosmic dimension.
