Stegi Vitsentzos Kornaros’ 1st Written Contest on Erotokritos will take place on Friday 9 June 2023, at 13:00, at the Hellenic Mediterranean University of Sitia, with the participation of first-year students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.
By organizing this contest, Stegi Vitsentzos Kornaros wishes to encourage the local University students to become acquainted with the poem of Vitsentzos Kornaros, Erotokritos, given that Sitia, the town of their studies, is also the birthplace of the poet. When they began this new chapter in their lives as University students, they were given a copy of Erotokritos and attended a presentation of the poet’s work, by the local philologist Mrs Sofia Fousteri, which took place at the premises of Stegi Vitsentzos Kornaros.
The results of the contest will be announced on Monday 13 June 2023, and the award ceremony is organized for the 28th of June, at the Sitia Polykentro. The awards include money prizes as follows: 1st prize: 300 euros, 2nd prize: 200 euros, 3rd prize: 100 euros.
In charge of the contest are the teachers Maria Christianna Passou and Angeliki Christaki.
