This book, which has just been published by Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS, includes 25 texts which share their personal opinions and insights that their authors have experienced through their varied encounters with Erotokritos.
The diplomat and film director Vassilis Xiros mentions: “Holding in my hands a collective volume in the writing of which I’d participated without knowing who the other writers were, felt strange and great at the same time, as among them I discovered familiar literary voices, such as Rea Galanaki, Alexis Panselinos and Giorgos Veis. Also, friends such as my colleague Vassilis Papadopoulos and the Cretan stage director Nassos Zagotis. Most importantly, however, as I discovered wonderful reads from people who have honoured the literary tradition of the land through their journey, such as Niki Troullinou, Thanassis Hatzopoulos, Maria Topali and my colleague at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nikos Vlachakis, as well as brilliant academics such as Walter Puchner, Evripidis Garandoudis and Alexis Politis (to mention but a few). The only bitter thought being that of the passing of the Heraklion journalist and writer Nikos Psilakis, just a few weeks ago.”
