Opening of Sophia Datseri’s painting exhibition titled: “The Mythicals”, on Saturday 22 July, at 20:30.

Sophia Datseri exhibits 14 of her works that are part of “The Mythicals” series, which she has made during the last two years.

Through these paintings, which were inspired by the art of Minoan Crete, Sophia Datseri attempts to illuminate the relation between elements of the pre-historic art of the Minoans and of the Hellenic folk art of more recent years, and how these elements, changed through new styles and techniques, manage to bring to life universal, ever-important symbols and archetypes.

The exhibition will be hosted by Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS, on the ground floor exhibition area of its premises (97, V. Kornarou & Kazantzaki Str., Sitia).
