Opening of Photo Exhibition: “Sitia of the Past”

Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS announces the opening of the photo exhibition titled: “Sitia of the Past”, on Saturday 20 January 2024 at 19:30, on the ground floor of its premises (97, Vitsentzou Kornarou St, Sitia).
The photographic material comes mainly (however, not only) from the private archive of Yiorgis Kritsotakis (+1979, the first professional photographer in Sitia), as well as from that of Yiorgis Dermitzakis (1944-2023, a Sitian photographer and graphic artist).
The visitors of the exhibition will have the opportunity to get a glimpse of Sitia and its people dating back to the Liberation of Crete from the Ottomans until 1970.
The photographs on show were collected by the local photographer Dimitris Tiniakos.
