The Hellenic Parliament and Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS invite you to the official presentation of the Proceedings of the International Conference “The Nature of Things: From the Creation of Erotokritos to its Diffusion and Reception”, on Tuesday, 1 October 2024 at 19:00. The event will be held at the Study Hall of the Benakeios Library (part of the Hellenic Parliament Library), at the historic building that used to house the State Tobacco Factory (218, Lenormant St, Kolonos, Athens).
Tina Lendari (Associate Professor, Department of Philology, Hellenic and Kapodistrian University of Athens), Stephanos Kaklamanis (Professor, Department of Philology, Hellenic and Kapodistrian University of Athens), Rea Galanaki (writer), and Nassos Zagotis (dramaturge, stage director) will be keynote speakers, while Yiannis Plakiotakis (1st Deputy Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament), Yiorgos Galanakis (founder of Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS) and Maria Kamilaki (Acting Director General for Electronic Administration, Library and Publications of the Hellenic Parliament) will also briefly address the attendees.
The event will continue with music performed by Kyriakos Gouventas (violin), Thodoris Christopoulos (piano), Maria Fragouli (voice), followed by a reception where Cretan delicacies will be served.
Before the beginning of the event, at 18:15, a tour of the Special Collections, focusing on exhibits related to Erotokritos, will be conducted by Dr Maria Vlassopoulou, Head of the Benakeios Library.
