Open Daily 4:00 pm –8:00 pm
From 2026 onwards, Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS launches a new annual multidisciplinary festival institution, which each year will focus on a different theme, highlighting contemporary artistic and intellectual trends.
The first edition is dedicated to contemporary Greek literature and is titled SITIA LITERARY FESTIVAL. The festival will take place in Sitia from 12 to 14 June 2026, aspiring to become a vibrant meeting point for writers, creators, and the public.
The central focus of the festival is the series of discussions that will be held on 13 and 14 June at the Polycenter of the Municipality of Sitia. Twenty contemporary Greek writers will participate in four round-table discussions, where four speakers and one moderator — also a writer — will engage in conversations in the presence of an audience. Each round table explores a different theme, as presented in the detailed festival programme, highlighting diverse aspects of contemporary literary production and thought.
At the same time, the festival is enriched by a broader artistic programme connecting literature with other forms of art:
Theatrical performance on Friday 12 June
Painting exhibition on Saturday 13 June
Concert on Sunday 14 June
In this way, the festival aims to create a multidimensional experience where language, image, and sound coexist and interact.
The curation and artistic direction of the Festival have been undertaken by Loukia Dervi and Alexis Panselinos, shaping a coherent and dynamic framework that showcases contemporary Greek creativity.
